Spiderman Edge Of Time - Nintendo DS

FEATURED Spiderman Edge Of Time – Nintendo DS

  • Features –

In “Spider-Man: Edge of Time,” Spider-Man faces one of his greatest challenges ever – saving Spider-Man. Developed by Activision-owned studio Beenox, Spider-Man: Edge of Time challenges the player to take on the roles of both classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to correct a time stream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker.
“Spider-Man: Edge of Time” is a focused, action-packed adventure set in two connected and evolving timelines, from the contemporary times of the Amazing Spider-Man to the corrupted future world of Spider-Man 2099, against the backdrop of a rich, tightly crafted narrative by acclaimed Marvel veteran Peter David (co-creator of the comic book series Spider-Man 2099). The game features all-new “cause-and-effect” gameplay, where players will see how the immediate and sometimes unexpected effects of their actions as one Spider-Man changes the timeline of the other Spider-Man.

When a time stream goes awry, spinning the universe toward a catastrophic future and causing the early and untimely death of Peter Parker, there’s only one man who can set things straight. Make that one man in two eras. It’s up to both the classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to correct the time stream and save Peter Parker — and the world as we know it. Are you ready to take on one of Spider-Man’s greatest challenges ever?

Do yourself a favor and use the money to buy a GOOD game!, October 15, 2011

What made me want to buy this game is, 1) I liked the game, “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions”, and 2) the description for “Edge of Time”, about whatever happens in one dimension (future or present) effects the other dimension (future or present). Well, making this game really must have looked a lot better on paper, because actually playing this game is a whole different story all together!!

I’ll make this short, and sweet; I have nothing good to say about this game. The graphics are as expected, being a Nintendo DS game. But, the gameplay really sucks. I even looked at the 3DS version, looked at the back of the box, and even the 3DS version looks better than the DS…means nothing to me, as I do not own a 3DS. But, this makes me feel that in creating this particular game, the regular DS got seriously shafted.
On the top screen, you see this labyrinth you have to go through, and a mini-map in the corner of the screen that helps you get from point A to point B. There are barriers along the way that prevents you from going to certain locations; you need to switch between the two dimensions in order to unlock the barriers. Sounds good in theory.

However… I got stuck in a certain spot of the game. I figure ok, maybe I am missing something. After, literally, fine-tooth-combing every inch of the areas I’m able to travel through, in both dimensions, I began to get extremely frustrated. I am not finding whatever I need in order to open any of the barriers, in order to progress in the game. There are to printed books or strategy guides for the DS. I looked online, and presently, there are no online walkthroughs to help you when you get stuck.

Ok…that’s the very least of the problems! There are a lot of glitches in this game, it’s not even funny! During game play, I’d find myself going thru walls, and barriers; sounds good, right? But, try getting out again! I’d get blocked, not being able to get back out, and have to re-start the game. I had even gone thru the floor, falling continuously, and again had to re-start the game. It got to the point to where I honestly feel that the game is so messed up with glitches, that that’s why I haven’t been able to progress any further in the game; not finding anything that would open the barriers that blocked my in the labyrinth.
In my search for an online walkthrough, I have found a comment someone else had written about their experience with this game. I feel better, knowing I’m not the only one who had been experiencing problems with glitches, and the inability to progress in the game.

Reader, do yourself a favor, do NOT waste your money on this game. Save yourself the frustration, and buy a GOOD game!

I got the game on the DS and I had to go to youtube once to figure out how to progress in the story and I tried it and it didn’t work. Afterwards, I went online to see why and found out that when you beat Arcade 2099 and return to the gateway room in both times, it doesn’t let you begin the next battle. The graphics suck and so I might get the game for the Wii(Spider-man: The Edge of Time).

My son loves Spiderman and I thought this game would be great. It is awful. Very hard to play. No instruction or guides. He was unable to figure it out, so it was a total waste of money.
